This initial visit is designed for our Chiropractors to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations, to determine how Chiropractic care can meet your goals. This is an opportunity to discuss any health-related concerns you may have and potential treatment options. After your consultation, the Chiropractor will perform a complete Chiropractic examination including standard neurological, orthopedic, postural and physical tests. Depending on your specific condition, we may advise you to get X-rays from South Coast Radiology who are conveniently positioned next door. X-Rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you will experience your first treatment (adjustment) if the Doctor thinks it is safe to adjust you. This may include spinal adjustments, specific muscle releases, cranial and peripheral mobilisations. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment at any time.
In the Report of Findings visits, our Chiropractors will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions you may have, including:
-How can you help me?
-How often do I need to come in?
-What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history and goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, the Chiropractor will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. We strive to provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
Follow up appointments will likely be in the form of regular Chiropractic Adjustments. A Chiropractic adjustment, also known as a manipulation, involves applying a short, quick force to the joints to correct a misalignment.
Our team use a variety of methods from manual adjusting with their hands, to the use of a drop table or activator, or a more gentle approach to ease the joints into their proper position. Treatment is tailored to the individual’s needs.
Patients attend our clinic for many different reasons and will all require a different number of treatments to meet their health goals. Every 6-12 visits our Chiropractors will carry out a re-examination and review patient progress. This is a good chance for patients to discuss any concerns and reassess their needs. During Chiropractic appointments we may also conduct ‘Exercise Reviews’. Our Chiropractor will prescribe rehabilitation exercises to help strengthen, stabilise and improve mobility. These exercises are your homework and play a pivotal role in the speed of your recovery. So be a good student and do your homework!
